Rob and I watched The Fountain last week (a movie in the middle of the week feels like such a treat!). Have you heard of this movie? I hadn't. I've given you a review for every 15 minutes of the movie: (and no, the pictures below are not from 3 different movies)
:15 Wait, what is this movie about?
:30 I don't get it.
:45 Oh, I see.
1:00 Huh.
1:15 Interesting.
1:30 This is so sad.
1:45 This is so weird.
2:00 What the heck?
Should you see this movie? I thought it was cool, and thought provoking. Mostly I thought it was strange. So, you decide. I don't know what rating you'll find on it, I think you can get it either PG-13 or R. We saw the PG-13, maybe the R makes more sense. And maybe it just contains more awesome scenes with plants growing out of the guy's belly and mouth.
dad made a list of some of the countries who participated in the olympics and we had to chose one and make a dish from that country and bring it to the closing ceremony dinner party. also we were told to bring a dessert {anything we wanted} that would be judged and then awarded gold, silver, bronze...and then we just made up some medals so that everyone could win. we had a fun night which began with everyone preparing something at the house and then eating, then we watched the pictures from rob and stephanies's honeymoon then we watched the olympics closing ceremony while we ate dessert. the food was so delicious and the desserts even better. below are the flags of the countries that participated{minus the philippines..they dropped out} mostly everyone had to do some last preparing of their meals at the house above james is preparing the cherry pie and below rob and steph are making these amazing sandwiches from Vietnam i am making tomato rissoles from Greece james pretending to sneak the whatever those are called...mark was nearby so he was only able to pretend leah eyeing grandma's plate of food everyone tried a bit of everything my dads dish from Timor-Leste on the left and those apples are made by a dinner guest that have an amazing yummy Hawaiian spice on them...soooo good. the sandwiches from Vietnam and a chinese dish seriously, the good was good the medals...who doesn't want to win one of those? the desserts: gold winner a chocolate peanut butter tart by natalie silver: apple cake an apple sauce with small bread pieces made by grandma adeline(its a danish dessert...our grandma is danish) bronze: a cherry pie by James and Alicia 4th place: a apple peanut butter cheesecake made by monica 5th place: frozen apples with toppings by Rob and Stephanie 6th place: Blueberry Rhubarb cobbler leah eyeing the desserts gold winners silver winner bronze winners 4th place 5th place 6th place
we decided to have an old fashioned picnic on sunday so we loaded up the Bonneville with food and dad took us to a secret location. we ended up at a park in lynnwood that is a historical park which now houses a building that dad used to go to(stole something from) when younger. we had yummy food and had a good time. we had jello, chips, pork and beans, fried chicken(no gluten thats why its dark brown) grapes, cherries, watermelon, cream soda and gluten free brownie cupcakes. a scary statue at the park...look at that face. behind us is a trolley mom played her brain game while we went and ventured off mom wouldn't smile in these pictures so i kept taking them trying to get her to be normal. she then tried to escape from me, but i kept popping up behind her with my camera we then went to mom's school to help set up shelves
