We've had three weeks since the start of Kindergarten to practice our morning routine and we're finally starting to get the hang of it. Unfortunately, part of that routine doesn't usually include taking pictures. If it did I would have had some lovely photos of our daily gourmet breakfast and impeccably groomed selves. But, since I didn't remember to document it, you'll just have to imagine it on your own. ;)
If I'd been thinking this morning, I also would have remembered to take pictures of my friend and I doing our morning walk after we do the school drop. We've been trying to go three times a week and usually walk between 40-50 minutes. This morning we saw a beautiful blue heron near one of the lakes. It was also incredibly humid so we, with our red strollers and very hot children, were all very sweaty by the time we finished.
Luckily, about 10:00 I started to think and caught the following images from our day. Enjoy!
10ish: Colin practicing his new found rolling skills. When he started, he was next to the little piano toy. He was very proud of himself. I was pretty proud too.
11ish: Yum! Carrots! Today was his first taste of carrots. He wasn't quite as excited about them as he was bananas, but he likes them pretty well.
1:00ish: Time to return the jumperoo. We also tried out sitting in the shopping cart seat for the first time. Colin loved the new vantage point and flirted with all the clerks while we shopped.
2:ish: I had to stop at the gas station to fill up. My car was low enough I was afraid I would run out of gas in the car rider line at school. Kindergarten has not been good for my gas mileage. Luckily there is a Chick fil a right next to the gas station and I had enough time to get a milkshake which made the car rider line much more bearable.
2:45: The infamous car rider line. That is also Alyssa's school.
3:15ish: I'd like to call this picture, "Kindergarten--when the novelty wears off and the exhaustion sets in." Don't be fooled--she isn't really asleep.
5ish: After everyone had some much needed downtime, Alyssa and Colin played in the living room. Please note the couch is not a couch, nor is it a fort. It is Alyssa's office.
6ish: Alyssa and Colin were having quite the conversation after dinner. I also found it funny that they both had their own "teethers."

What cute pictures of Colin! The rolling one is so classic. Poor Alyssa - I know she loves school but I can imagine how worn out it all makes her.
Good job with your walking routine! It's so fun to have someone to walk with - I'm jealous.
Fun day (or maybe it was just normal for you - but fun for me to see it!)
i agree with steph, it's a fun day for us.
love seeing the kiddos and what they are up to during the day.
a milkshake sounds delicious...they dont have those here. not even at mcdonalds.
i can't believe how long that school line is! They should figure out how to change that.
thanks for taking pictures and posting!
Ya, that school line is a beast. Can you park in a neighborhood and walk in to get her? Colin is looking so much older....so cute!
