October 10 on 10: Lisa

Not sure why it took so long to get these posted, but here you go. We're finally starting to get into a good groove with Kindergarten and such--I may even claim a routine given another month. Enjoy the scenes from our almost routine :)

8ish: On our way to school. There is a very specific drop-off and pick-up procedure which we try to adhere to which requires Alyssa to sit on the passenger side of the car. When we pull into the loop, a 5th grader opens the door and helps Alyssa out. She then follows another 5th grader to a little door where the Kindergarteners go in to sit in front of their classroom. The bigger kids have to sit under the pavilion and sit in their class line. I think in this case it is good to be in Kindergarten because it is still pretty hot and muggy outside.

Alyssa was enjoying all the sun coming into the car this morning.

You can almost see the 5th grader who quickly snuck out of the way.

9ish: We didn't go on our normal Wednesday walk today so instead we came home and Colin had some yummy mangoes for breakfast.

But I'm not sure which he was more excited about: the food or the lid.

10ish: Colin has one tooth that has finally broken through which means no matter what he has, he tries to chew it up. He has found books to be especially tasty. Note outfit number one for the day.

Mid-dayish: Hanging out at BJs--similar to Costco. Note outfit #2. Mangoes + spit up = need to change one's shirt

1ish: Getting excited to pick up Alyssa from school (note outfit #3). Wednesdays end one hour earlier for faculty meetings. This is true for every public school/grade in the district. One of my great fears is forgetting that it is Wednesday and showing up to pick up Alyssa an hour late.

1:45ish: Alyssa didn't want her picture taken after school. This is the speed at which she moves most days after holding still for the entire schoolday.

2:00ish: The aftermath of Mangoes for breakfast. Not pictured here is the carseat cover which also needed a good washing. Perhaps this is why Alyssa was so speedy to get out of the car.

3ish: Jacob was having a rough day at work so we'd thought we'd cheer him up (Note: lack of outfit)

4ish: Rock star!!! Trying on her new jeans. And yes, the size you see on the tag is correct: 6 Slim Skinny.

5ish: Started working on dinner--turkey meatloaf with yummy sweet chili sauce as part of the sauce. Yummy!

5ish: working on homework while dinner cooks. Alyssa agreed to have her picture taken if I let her make funny faces. These were her two favorites.

5ish: Colin has taken to sucking on his lips while his sister does her homework. Note the 4th and final outfit of the day.

6:30ish: Eating dinner while I get ready for YW's for the evening.

Other events not pictured: Colin and Alyssa taking a bath - although that was more of Jacob's day than mine; 3 YW awkwardly chatting while doing random service projects; and finally hot fudge sundaes from McDonalds for Jacob and I. A perfect end to the day.

Funny about COlin's many outfits. At least it's nice that he just has to wear a onesie and you don't have many layers of clothes to change!

I like Alyssa's new jeans, but I'm more interested in the hot pink pants - are those skinny jeans?

We love sweet chili sauce, we put it on anything we can think of. Hadn't thought of meatloaf!

Fun, thanks so much for all these pictures of my cute niece and nephew!

Love all of Colin's outfit changes, funny to see.

Love that picture to cheer up Jacob.

Love your day. It was much better than mine. I will not be posting...it was a rough day of forgetting to take photos and then being sick from 5:00 on. So I will post next month.
